Nasya Anderson

Nasya Anderson is a junior Mechanical Engineering major with an A.S. degree in Information Technology, working towards a career in Biomechanical Engineering. She is interested in working with people and designing medical devices that can improve the well-being of others, such as athletes, veterans, people with disabilities, or underlying conditions. In her first year, she participated in the FIRE Program at UMD, where her and her group were able to design a research proposal for a point-of-care device that uses biosensors to detect the prostate cancer antigen through urine samples. She currently works for Maryland Football as a videographer and as an HR Student Assistant at Stamp Student Union. She is also the Pre-College Initiative Chair for the Black Engineer Society, where she organizes outreach events for local high school students.
